Condor hand luggage 2026 – the rules at a glance
For hand luggage, Condor's rule is: a small bag is free in every fare – the large trolley, on the other hand, from the Economy Classic fare onwards, and on short city routes (for example within Germany) already in Economy Light. In the Economy Zero fare, you have to add it on.
1. The small bag (personal item)
The small piece of hand luggage is included free of charge in every Condor fare and must fit under the seat in front:
- Dimensions: 40 × 30 × 15 cm (new since 01.05.2026, previously 40 × 30 × 10 cm)
- Typical examples: laptop bag, handbag, small backpack, shoulder bag
- Storage: under the seat in front
- Suitable options: underseater bags, small shoulder bags or compact backpacks
2. The large hand luggage trolley
The classic cabin trolley is included free of charge from the Economy Classic fare onwards, and already in Economy Light on short city routes:

- In the Economy Zero fare: not included – can be added from €9.99 (short-/medium-haul), from €19.99 (United Arab Emirates) or from €29.99 (long-haul)
- Suitable options: cabin trolleys in 55 × 40 × 23 cm, cabin backpacks or travel bags in cabin-size format
New since 1 May 2026 – larger hand luggage: Condor has increased the permitted dimensions network-wide: the small bag from 40 × 30 × 10 to 40 × 30 × 15 cm and the trolley from 55 × 40 × 20 to 55 × 40 × 23 cm. Many older sources online still show the smaller figures – the new dimensions are the ones that apply. Find the right Condor suitcase: With a hand luggage trolley that's precisely sized at 55 × 40 × 23 cm, you're on the safe side – and you avoid the gate fee.

Condor checks the dimensions and weight of hand luggage at the gate. If your luggage doesn't fit or is too heavy, it will be transported in the hold for a fee:
- Short- and medium-haul: approx. €75 per piece of luggage
- Long-haul: approx. €100 per piece of luggage
Money-saving tip: With a Condor-compliant suitcase (55 × 40 × 23 cm) and a small bag (40 × 30 × 15 cm), you avoid gate checks entirely. Pay attention to the external dimensions including wheels and handles – many "expandable" suitcases exceed the limit when fully expanded.
Checked luggage with Condor 2026
Unlike hand luggage, checked luggage with Condor depends on the fare:
- Economy Light / Zero: no checked luggage included – can be added
- Economy Classic / Choice / Flex: 20 kg, which can also be split across several pieces (max. 158 cm total dimensions each); USA/Canada, Iraq and Lebanon 23 kg
- Premium Economy: 25 kg (USA/Canada 1 × 32 kg)
- Business: 30 kg (Iraq/Lebanon 32 kg, USA/Canada 2 × 32 kg)
- Absolute maximum: 32 kg per piece of luggage
Good to know: From 1 May 2027, Condor is increasing the checked luggage weight allowances (Economy to 23 kg, Premium to 32 kg). This increase only applies from that date – until then, the figures listed above apply.
Power banks and lithium batteries with Condor
As with all airlines, strict safety rules apply to power banks and batteries with Condor:
- Hand luggage only – never in checked luggage
- Maximum of 2 power banks per person, packed so as to prevent short circuits
- Up to 100 Wh permitted, 100–160 Wh only with Condor's approval, over 160 Wh prohibited
- Use and charging on board prohibited – keep within reach under the seat in front, not in the overhead locker
You'll find more details and the mAh-to-Wh conversion in our guide Power bank in hand luggage.
Liquids in Condor hand luggage
The EU-wide liquid rules apply: individual containers of a maximum of 100 ml, all together in a transparent 1-litre bag. At airports with modern CT scanners (e.g. Frankfurt), larger quantities are sometimes permitted too; at Munich Airport, the 100 ml rule has been dropped at all checkpoints since 18 September 2026 (up to 2 litres per container). On the return flight, the rule of the respective departure airport applies. Find all the details in the guide Liquids in hand luggage – we have the right flight bags in our shop.
5 money-saving tips for your Condor hand luggage
- Compare Zero vs. Classic: if you need a trolley, compare Economy Classic with an included suitcase against Zero plus the added trolley fee.
- Pack to the exact size: better a 55 × 40 × 23 cm suitcase than one that's right on the edge. Measure your own suitcase including wheels and handles.
- Make the most of the small bag: the 40 × 30 × 15 cm cabin bag fits a power bank, charging cables, headphones and travel documents – free in every fare.
- Choose a lightweight suitcase: every kilo of empty weight eats into the 8 kg limit. Modern hand luggage suitcases often weigh under 2.5 kg.
- Book online rather than at the gate: book your trolley and checked luggage in advance – at the airport it becomes significantly more expensive, and at the gate you risk €75–100.
